Dutch Family History

Introduction

This site is dedicated to providing a sense of family history to honor our ancestors for creating our families and to preserve this history for us and our children. It is with this history that we feel a duty and obligation to preserve it. If you are a member of any of the families listed here and would like to contribute, please email Richard Bultman.

The Bultman Family History begins as far as we can tell sometime at the end of the 17th Century, in and around Hattem or Oldebroek, Holland. The earliest ancestor currently found is the marriage of Jan Lubberts and Trijntne Jansdr. The marriage took place it is assumed about 1710-11. The basis for most of this information is the "Gen Lias" database provided by the Government of The Netherlands. Other sources include the LDS database, ancestry.com and other websites plus discussions with family members and notes.

Because this is the beginning of our Family History information page, it is to be assumed that not all information is correct but will be continually verified and updated. Information has been selected from sources that are deemed reliable and accurate.

It should be noted that the entire Ornee family information was provided by Ralph Tschoop in The Netherlands and Ruth Ornee Gritter in Michigan plus Betty Stursma in Southern California. An enormous job, but complete in every way. Our grateful thanks.

For the Bultman side of the family, we owe thanks for information and pictures to John Bultman in Florida and his daughter, Deborah, in Alabama, descendants of Dirk Bultman and the information they provided. Also to Elaine Bultman Schmitt who has recently joined in this effort and has provided so much insight and help plus the photographs. She is a granddaughter of Gerrit Bultman.

We have a new addition in the help department for the Kramer family. We recently connected with Nancy Sommer, a granddaughter of Sietske Althuisius and Reinder Kramer. There are new pictures in the Kramer Gallery.
